The 1st Leg of the Virtual Police Leadership and Good Governance Lecture Seriesfor CY 2022 entitled “Overcoming Challenges, Achieving Greater Heights – Lessons from the Top Cops of the PNP” was conducted on January 27, 2022 (Thursday) from 9:00 AM to 12:00 NNat the CPSM Sinagtala P.A.T.R.O.L.ers Hall (Host Venue), Camp BGen Rafael T Crame, Quezon City.
The following are the highlights of the said activity:
The Lecture Series was attended by 700+ participants via Zoom platform. The Facebook live has 7,300+ reach, 3,100+ views, and 152 shares.
PLTCOL MA ANGELA M SALAYA, OIC, OAD, CPSM acted as the lecture series host while PSSg Vanessa Kate M Morada, Action PNCO, SRD acted as co-host. PSSg Shiela Mariz P Gabriel, Action PNCO, OAD, led the invocation.
PCOL VICTOR V AREVALO, Deputy Director, CPSMwelcomed everybody with gratitude for joining the very meaningful event.
PMSg Mary Catherine B Demontaño, 2015 Metrobank Outstanding Filipino Awardee, gave a lecture on the topic “Youth Defender.” She shared her experiences in the implementation of the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) Program and “Pulis at Barangay Aktibong Lumalaban sa karahasan Hangad Ay Kaayusan ng Sambayanan (PABALHAS) sa Guimaras.”
PCMS Rina D Salaya, 2009 Ten Outstanding Policewomen of the Philippines and 2011 Metrobank Outstanding Filipino Awardee, gave a lecture on the topic “Double the Success: How to Win Twice”. She shared her experiences in the implementation of the “Project Tsinelas incorporated to the Pulis Ko Teacher Ko Program”, Project Furnish, Empower, Educate and Discipline (F.E.E.D), and the Project Veggies for Life.
PMAJ ROBERT A REYES, 2019 Metrobank Outstanding Filipino Awardee gave a lecture on the topic “Cybercop: Fighting and Preventing Crime thru ICT.” He shared his major accomplishments as follows:
- Arrest of Mr. Shin Un Su, a cybercriminal with Interpol warrant;
- “Oplan Strikeback” – the dismantling of sextortion syndicate;
- Deactivation of fake FB and Instagram accounts; and
- Conduct of Cypber Lectures on different sectors of the community.
PLTCOL JONATHAN P PABLITO, 2021 Metrobank Outstanding Filipino Awardee, gave a lecture on the topic “Nurturing the Gains of PNP P.A.T.R.O.L. Plan 2030.” He shared the parameters on how to be included in the Metrobank Ten Outstanding Filipinos. He also shared his major accomplishment as follows:
- A Transformation Advocate;
- Medical and Legal assistance fund of PRO 6 Personnel;
- Pulis Ko Life Saver Ko Project;
- Serving and Protecting Iloilo City;
- Policing in time of Pandemic in Boracay;
- Outreach to the Ati; and
- Best Practice Batang Pandilla.
He advised the Police Strategy Management Units (PSMUs) to document properly and tell the stories about their respective accomplishments and gains thru the PNP P.A.T.R.O.L. Plan 2030.
PCOL SUSAN R JALLA (Ret), 2016 Metrobank Outstanding Filipino awardee, gave a lecture on the topic “A Heart for Humanity.” She shared her major accomplishments as follows:
- Certification of forensic examiners;
- Pioneered the Scene of the Crime Operations;
- Rollito Go case;
- Manuel Luis Jr kidnap-slay case; and
- Burials of skeletal remains in CARAGA.
Plaque of Appreciation and Tokens were given to the lecturers by PCOL AREVALO. He was assisted by PCOL ERCY NANETTE P MADRIAGA, Acting Chief of Staff and Legal Officer, CPSM.
PBGEN DIONARDO B CARLOS,CPNP and C, TWG for PNP P.A.T.R.O.L. Plan 2030 delivered his message. He commended those who are attending the Lecture Series for it increases the competence of personnel and gives them confidence in performing their duties as police officers. He congratulated his CPSM Family for conducting the Lecture Series Project. He expressed his gratitude to the Stakeholders for their unwavering support and sharing their expertise.
