A joint undertaking, to provide educational grant to dependents of PNP uniformed personnel who died or became permanently incapacitated in the performance of duty or by reason of office, has been formalized with the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement between the PNP and Bayaning Pulis Foundation Inc on Wednesday. The accord was forged between the two parties on June 2, 2021, at the PCCI Innovation Center, 8 Meridian Avenue, Double Dragon Meridian Park Pasay City by PNP Chief Police General Guillermo Lorenzo T Eleazar and Ambassador Benedicto Yujuico, President of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce (PICC) and Chairman of the Foundation who both attended the occasion as the primary signatories of the accord. It was also attended by the Foundation President PBGen Noel A Baraceros (Ret), Commissioner  Zenonida Brosas, Commissioner NAPOLCOM, PMGen Rolando J Hinanay, TDPRM and PBGen Randolf Y Balonglong, DCPSM as witnesses.

“Today’s signing of the Memorandum of Agreement with Bayaning Pulis Foundation Inc. recognizes the sacrifices of our PNP heroes in safeguarding the peace and security of the country amid the pandemic, and serve to boost the morale and welfare of every PNP personnel and their family which is among the highpoints of our action plan”, Eleazar said. “Sa pamamagitan ng ganitong uri ng mga programa ay inaalala po natin ang ating mga Bayaning Pulis at ang kanilang kadakilaan upang maiabot ang serbisyong inaasahan ng ating mga kababayan mula sa ating kapulisan. Naiintindihan kong hindi matutumbasan ng anumang pera at benepisyo ang pagkawala ng inyong mga mahal sa buhay ngunit nawa’y nakatulong ito sa pamamagitan ng mga benepisyong inilaan para sa inyo”. Eleazar added. Meanwhile, the Board of Trustees of the Foundation were all present, both physically and virtually while major donors and would be donors were also invited to further strengthen the footing of this newly founded organization. 

After the formal signing of MOA, 22 nationwide beneficiaries, comprising of elementary to college students, received educational grants from the said Foundation, four guardians received the educational grant for their dependents, while other grantees attended online. “Sa darating na mga araw, kumpiyansa ako sa ating mga pulis na matutupad ninyo ang inyong sinumpaang tungkulin. Ang aking hamon: buong puso ninyong yakapin ang mga katangian ng isang marangal na pulis, may integridad, malinis, mapagkumbaba at mapagkakatiwalaan sa pagbibigay ng tunay na serbisyo publiko. Ipagpatuloy ninyo ang pagiging bantayog ng dangal at integridad sa buong kapulisan sa ngalan ng pagpapanatili ng kapayapaan at katahimikan sa ating bansa.” Eleazar said. The Bayaning Pulis Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization launched by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) in 2020, in partnership with the Philippine National Police (PNP), that focuses on providing financial assistance and social outreach to the families of  police officers who lost their lives or became permanently disabled in the line of duty.
